            Paawan Dham hospice service run by Nishkam Sewa Ashram has received a young patient Sunil resident of Distt. Kapurthala( Punjab ), aged only 18 years of age, suffering from incurable disease    osteosarcoma,  a bone cancer.

            His father Balwant  Rai told, that Sunil is suffering from this disease  for 2 years and we  got treated at PGI Chandigarh twice and Chemotherapy was also done ot cure him, now Dr. Raman Arora, HOD Mohan Dai Cancer Hospital , Ludhiana has referred the patient to Paawan Dham. He was undergoing sever pain, which we could not see. Furthermore medical care for cure of disease is not possible as the disease is terminal. So we are giving him whatever care is possible. Paawan Dham is providing all care, including Nursing, food and staying free of any charges.

            Dr. Raman Arora M.D. said, Since there was no early detection of Sunil's disease, so this cancer become malignant. He said in India for many patients cancer remain undetected and untreated by the time the cancer is discovered, cure may not be possible.

            Doctor attending to Sunil at Paawan Dham, Dr. Santokh Singht told now we are giving him end of life palliative care, aimed at pacifying patient.  

            Chairman of Nishkam Sewa Ashram, Sarwan Kumar, told the main objective of Paawan Dham is proving pain management , psychological and Spiritual care. We are providing Sunil best possible attention so that his and his family's fears are removed. And he receive best end of life care.

Mass Marriages to be held on 24th Feb 2008

Every year Nishkam organises mass marriages for those needy parents who cant not afford to get their daughters married, on sunday, March 5, 2006, 21 girls solennized nupital knots with their bridegrooms.

A large numbers of guests, nishkam members and nishkam employees were there to attend the function.Mr. and Mrs. JS Pramar and S. Sohan Singh of Janta Sewak Society, were specialy invited from Vancouver Canada.

Each couple received gift with grocery itels, swing machines, furniture, clothers, utensils, fans and many more articles.The functions was very well covered by electronic and print media.
